D Shape steel Karabiners are Double-action twist-lock carabiners, require two actions to open, ensuring that carabiners cannot be opened accidentally.
To open the carabiner the gate must be rotated then drawn back.
The carabiner locks automatically when released to ensure that it's ready for use.
They're easier to open than triple-action twist locks so they're used when the carabiner needs to be opened on a regular basis and where there is a low risk of the carabiner opening accidentally.
